With one of the largest late-model equipment fleets in the U.S., Ames can mobilize quickly to provide projects with resources whenever and wherever they are needed.
We’ve assembled a diverse fleet for building structures, earthmoving, and mining. These assets are located across the country, allowing Ames to adapt as project demands unexpectedly change and challenges arise.
Our fleet is substantial
Ames’ fleet totals more than 6,000 pieces, ranging from equipment typical in our industry to specialty pieces that make tasks easier and more efficient. These include:
• 1,000+ pieces of large earthmoving equipment
• 150 pieces of water equipment including barges and tug boats
• 3 concrete batch plants with 6 pavers
• 70 crushers, screen plants, and feeders, and 250 conveyors
• 70 cranes
• 250 lifts
Our fleet is strategic
Ames supports its fleet at three large repair shops and two small shops at strategic locations around the U.S. Local equipment managers and shop foremen track and maintain the fleet, supported by more than 225 maintenance personnel companywide. We maintain and repair the equipment in the field with more than 120 mobile service trucks and fuel and lube trucks.

By owning and maintaining our own fleet of equipment, we can mobilize quickly without relying on others to find equipment for us, and our shops can react swiftly when customization or repairs are needed.
