Retirement
- 401(k) - We encourage our employees to save for the future. Non-union employees may save with traditional before-tax dollars, after-tax Roth dollars, or a combination of both, up to IRS limits. Ames offers a company match, automatic enrollment, and a wide assortment of investment options to choose from.
- Profit Sharing - As another way to boost employees' retirement savings, Ames contributes to a profit-sharing plan for hourly and salaried employees.

Health Benefits - Medical, Pharmacy, Dental, and Vision Insurance
Ames offers two health plan options for non-union employees: a Preferred Provider Organization (PPO) plan and a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP), with employee contributions below industry averages. These bundled plans also include prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage.

Spending Accounts
- Health Savings Account (HSA) – Non-union employees enrolled in the HDHP will receive an Ames contribution into their HSA account and can also defer their own pre-tax money up to IRS limits.
- Dependent Care Flexible Spending (DCFSA) – Non-union employees can elect to contribute to a dependent care flexible spending account on a pre-tax basis to pay for eligible dependent care expenses.
- Health Savings Account (HSA) – Non-union employees enrolled in the HDHP will receive an Ames contribution into their HSA account and can also defer their own pre-tax money up to IRS limits.

Voluntary Benefits
Non-union employees have the option to enroll in voluntary benefit programs that can help offset the cost of unexpected medical expenses, including Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity insurance.

Mental Health Program
Mental health is a top priority for Ames. We partner with Lyra to offer confidential care for your emotional and mental health - how, when, and where you need it. All Ames employees and their dependents have access to complimentary coaching or therapy sessions.

Life and AD&D Insurance
Non-union employees are covered under the company-paid Basic Life/AD&D benefit, which provides additional financial security in the event something happens to you. You also have the option to purchase additional Life Insurance and AD&D for yourself, your spouse, and your children.

Disability
Non-union employees are covered under Short-term and Long-term Disability plans for additional income protection. This benefit is paid by Ames and provides wage continuation in the event you have a serious illness or injury.

Vacation, Sick Time, Holidays, and Bereavement
As a family-owned company, we want to ensure that you spend important days with your loved ones and take the time off you need to relax and unwind. We offer paid vacation, sick time, bereavement, and eight company holidays for non-union employees, including craft employees.

Parental Leave
At Ames, we know that family comes first. We offer paid maternity, paternity, and adoption leave so you can spend time caring for and bonding with your newborn.

Military Leave
Ames appreciates the sacrifices our service members make. For up to one year, Ames offers differential pay and benefits coverage for eligible employees.
