The Webster Dam and Reservoir in Rooks County, Kansas, was constructed in the mid-twentieth century and is used for irrigation, recreation, and flood control.

By 2021, the aging infrastructure required high-quality concrete replacement to repair the spillway chute floor. Ames began the project by constructing access roads, performing site development for a batch plant to produce concrete, and demolishing the existing concrete spillway chute.

Project scope included the excavation of rock, common materials, and clay tile pipe demolition; installation of a grouted anchor bar into the foundation and existing concrete; placement of gravel and sand filter material; drain pipe replacement; and new concrete chute construction. Ames crews also dewatered the stilling basin, maintained the dewatering systems, and removed debris from within the stilling basin.

The project concluded with reclamation and seeding. The reconstructed spillway chute will help the dam and reservoir benefit surrounding communities for many more decades.
