For this tailings dam project, Ames excavated and regraded tailings to ensure a slope of 3:1 or less. Work scope included structural, mechanical, piping, and liner installation. Ames crews also constructed access roads.
Ames established the borrow area and excavated common, placing it to a depth of 2 feet over the regraded faces. Four rock armor sizes were designated and produced on-site by drilling and blasting, crushing, and screening.
