Webster Dam Spillway Chute Replacement In Kansas Is Complete
Mission accomplished for the Ames team at the Webster Dam in Kansas!
The dam spillway reconstruction is complete, with reclamation and seeding wrapping up in June. The spillway is refilling quickly, and the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks plans to stock trout this fall.
The reconstructed spillway chute will ensure that the dam and reservoir in north-central Kansas will continue to protect downstream communities for decades to come. Communities in the Missouri River Basin depend on dams for flood control, irrigation, municipal water, and recreation.
“We were fortunate to have such a skilled and dedicated crew. Morale was high even when faced with challenges. They exemplify Ames’ core values.”
